One of the best feelings of attending a concert is being in the same room as your favorite artist and thousands of strangers that enjoy the same music you do. And spacial audio can make that feeling possible even during social-distancing times.

The Spotify REC Room is a studio and performance space that specializes in connecting artists with fans through immersive and interactive experiences. Designed to optimize recording for 3D audio, the REC Room provides artists a platform that invites fans to feel like they're in the same room as the artists and other fans.

The Recording Experience for Connection
Through the Spotify platform, fans will be able to immerse themselves into different rooms according to the experience they're looking for. Each room contains audio tracks that have been recorded specially for 3D Audio capabilities in order to create a native spatial audio experience that takes full advantage of this technology and makes Spotify a pioneer in the 3D Audio experience.

Exploring different spaces
The REC Experience is equipped with featured rooms recorded for spatial audio, such as:
Genre Rooms: a place were fans can tune into a room full of a compilation of songs according to genre.
Concert Rooms: live performances in which the audio feedback responds directly to the movements of the artist performing.
Podcast Rooms: where fans can feel part of the conversation and hear artists talk about their music.
Friend Rooms: immersive rooms that allow friends to simultaneously be in the same room and listen to the same tracks.
Fan Rooms: rooms where fans can be part of a larger collective rooms with other people enjoying the same music.
The REC Experience is also magnified by joining Spotify's new Greenroom App to make this not only an immersive audio experience,
but also an interactive one.
Headphones to amplify your experience
As Spotify's direct competitor, Apple Music, explores the world of spatial audio, one of the biggest downfalls is the fact that most music is recorded through stereo audio, making it incompatible with spatial audio. As Spotify introduces a new way to record and let the audience experience audio, a natural opportunity presents itself for Spotify to launch a listening tool that takes the experience a step further.
Headphone design and packaging
The DIMENSIONS have incorporated LED lights that change color depending on the room you're tuned into, allow for the chance to people to feel connected just by noticing from afar that someone else is connected to the same room they're.
As part of the promotional plan for the Spotify Dimensions, content will also be created with the artists using the product throughout the different REC ROOM features and touchpoints.
